Given a plot of land and a budget, you have to design a golf course that can keep a stream of little Sim golfers of varying interests and skill levels happy, while running the business end of things wisely enough to turn a profit. And when you get bored with that stuff, you can take your own little Sim golfer out and play through your course.
I have never understood the appeal of golf, but I loved this game.

“SimGolf was nominated for Computer Gaming World's 2002 ‘Strategy Game of the Year’ award, which ultimately went to Freedom Force. It was also a runner-up for GameSpot's annual ‘Best Single-Player Strategy Game on PC’ award, losing to Medieval: Total War.”

@jalefkowit I actually kind of like real golf, and I also love this game.
