Not just literally that the book includes a mask of a vaguely famous dead lady?
Like, if you're so "homely" that none of the other beauty secrets work, you can get your scissors and cut out this mask of a pretty lady and just cover your face with that.

@apLundell @lapis @Taweret I suspect itโs a way of saying they can help older women attract younger men. Diane de Poitiers was the mistress of Henry II of France; she had him completely wrapped around her little finger. They began their affair when Diane was 35 and Henry was 15.
