@jalefkowit technically, there's no resolution - just grains of film. Theoretical amount is 18k, but IMAX claims a film with the aspect ratio of 1.43 (3840x2160) like resolution is realistically around 8-12k equivalent. But there's no true pixel resolution.
Roommate said it all depends on the mastering or the transfer from the original film to the new media.
