what I hear: omg no are we having an issue with the FreeIPA connection? DNS ok, Wireguard routing up, sssctl ok. don't tell me it's the LDAP, I'm not sure I can fiddle with the schema again without damaging it, I already asked in the FreeIPA list about Synology DSM interop and the devs are locked in some sort of philosophical dispute about how to use LDAP for password auth Correctly and neither side will budge. I'm uncertain if new users will even be functional, these old scripts to build the Windows cache entry thingie aren't working any longer, but the old ones should be working. will I really have to modify the auth infra on a Friday?? maybe I should just give up on FreeIPA at this point. is DSM pointing to my fresh new CentOS machine, or to the 2017 one I secretly keep around untouched in case of compatibility emergency? no but I can login with my test user, maybe it has to do with the local users conflicting with the sssd—
what was the problem: the password user had input was wrong
