It's wild that women still think that other women presenting as stereotypically feminine is "enforcing misogynistic norms." It's as if POC lesbian feminists of the 80s and later never wrote anything.

But, then again, since all the women saying that are white, second-wave feminists who live in a racist, evangelical landscape, I guess they wouldn't know, because they never read anything.
Guess what, white bitches? Plenty of hold-the-mayo populations love their femininity. You're just a fucking white patriarchal shill.

Feminism: "Women shouldn't have to wear dresses."
White Feminists: "Women should not ever wear dresses."
Black Feminists: "Bitch don't tell me what I can wear! The fuck you think you talkin to?!"
White Feminists: "They don't understand real feminism."
Every. Fucking. Time.

@[email protected] I've literally seen somehow even worse arguments by these people. On tumblr I watched people who fit within the gender binary be attacked by fellow GNC (gender non conformant for lack of a better term) folks for "reinforcing the gender binary" instead of being a gender anarchist. to the point they felt dysphoria and unwanted within their own fucking communities. awful awful shit. we should be supportive of each other, not fight about whether wearing a sundress is "problematic" and upholding the patriarchy

@[email protected] like you cannot seriously say within the same sentence "being trans is about bodily autonomy, picking out who you are for yourself" and then get mad at mtf for reinforcing the gender binary instead of being nonbinary. that's not how this works

@[email protected] god it's been a hot minute since i have been exposed to this level of radioactive discourse, thank god i (myself, although that might be because I’m white) don't see it as much on fedi (although it's still in some places). tumblr was absolutely full of it

@puppygirlhornypost2 That's the same evangelical bullshit. I'm sorry but much of what comes out of America comes from an evangelical framework that people have not taken even thirty seconds to self-evaluate about. Like there's so much "I went this way so everyone should because it's right" that fucking straight out of Puritan culture… the fuck outta here with that shit.

@[email protected] don’t be sorry, I’m American and I take the piss out of this shithole country all the time.

@[email protected] one of the things that I talked about on my old account - it’s so genuinely hard to remove the cognitive bias I have from puritan culture. My European friends will post selfies of them in bikinis, sunbathing and it’s not sexual to them but when I see it on my timeline my mind screams "where’s the content warning". It has gotten a lot better from long term exposure to international communities - that voice is not as loud. It’s still so fucking awful.
