Major depressive disorder - although, i don't actually consider that one, i was diagnosed with it from the same fucks that actively abused me while i was inpatient. giving me the wrong medication they literally put me on things like abilify instead of my normal medication for a day or two. it was fucked
and then we start getting into my other disorders like EDS and the lovely complications (POTS) all revolving around it. i digress. i genuinely avoid telling doctors what i have because i have noticed if you have "too many diagnoses" that doctors will not believe you and will just treat you as if you are insane and making everything up -
@tjhexf there are actually disorders i know i have but refuse to get formally diagnosed with because of the issue at the end. i don't want to appear with "too many" mental disorders because it's already bad enough as it is

@puppygirlhornypost2 are you supposed to be able to just get diagnosed by a psychiatrist?? all the last ones basically said "oh you need to find a specialist for a diagnosis" and threw me at someone else

@puppygirlhornypost2 @tjhexf I would also like to point out that the official diagnosis conditions for depression in the DSM-V is INCREDIBLY stupid and just fucking batshit. it is based on NOTHING empirical and literally they just polled a bunch of doctors and asked them "what are some of the symptoms of depression" and then those are what it lists. no I'm not joking.

@tjhexf now i just have to keep in mind whenever my PANDAS symptoms flare and i take this special antibiotic regimen for like three weeks or something insane in case they managed to get back up in there. idk why they want to share my brain it's annoying actually

the things in ones medical records are overwhelmingly used to hurt patients.
i routinely tell doctors NOT to chart specific things we talk about and often get medications out-of-pocket to keep them off my "record".
all this stuff gets weaponized by insurers when they want to deny coverage or - at worst - cops and the legal system should you ever be thrown into it.
