another is that edits are actually pushed to all occurrences of the post. on tumbr the old version just floats around with whatever chain reblogged it before the edit, forever

also ik it's a mixed bag but federation and distributed moderation are really a lot better than whatever the fuck tumblr and indeed all centralized sites have going on. yes we have metas and community callouts and instance blocks. but really that's a luxury we didn't really get on Tumblr. on there you're always paranoid about random tefs as well as the openly corrupt and capricious mods. at least here we can carve out and manage our own space and im convinced that is beautiful!

@[email protected] but also you can escape* moderator corruption here? On tumblr my account was just terminated with no chance for appeal. On here sure I have experienced the same thing (altho i was given an hour warning). I still had the choice to go to another community and be part of the platform. To talk to my friends I wasn't required to make a transfem.social account again
* there are exceptions to this, as per usual. If the moderator is part of a bigger instance and is remote suspending you knowing most of the people you interact with is on their instance and so forth. -

@raeve @[email protected] long story my predecessor suspended me after making a slanderous fediblock post and i was forced to migrate to kitsunes.club. i then ate this instance and became the head administrator.
