@danderson Cool. Retropixel Yeeting
A couple of years ago, a friend nerd-sniped me into helping him develop the Nemesis core for MiSTer. It’s impressive the amount that we learned from this. I had learnt the theory in uni, but it’s only from this (25 years later,) that I really understood some parts, like peripherals.
Developing something like this from scratch seems very interesting.

@oscherler yeah this is a learning project for me too! I was looking for a non-toy thing to build for a long time and then @mos_8502 sniped me into this, which has just the right amount of complexity and interest for my skills. So far it's reproducing the "API" someone else designed, so I can focus on implementation... But I'm excited to try some ideas of my own once I can draw pixels!

@oscherler @mos_8502 MiSTer looks very fun, I should really try to get one. But I'm a fan of the Lattice open source toolchain and somewhat esoteric HDLs so I'm probably not a good fit for contributing cores (and I assume the cores I would want have been implemented long ago...)
