@zachleat Happy uBlock Origin Lite user here. It's definitely not opt-in per page, but rather opt-out per page or opt-in to even tighter filtering rules per page. You can optionally choose your personal extra filter lists and your default filter level. I was on the regular uBlock Origin before, and honestly didn't notice a difference in my browsing experience. Admittedly, I didn't fiddle with additional custom rules, since the default was just right.

Correction to this post after playing with uBlock Origin Lite for a bit—it does *not* require per-site opt-in, defaults to a Basic limited permissions filtering mode:
