He proposed 2 great solutions & asked how others are dealing with this: https://mastodon.social/@ricmac/113231588138748040
I've been thinking a lot about the question of identity on the #Fediverse. I use the same profile photo with a different background color.
Yesterday I created a #Sharkey account & added the text Sharkey as a pattern in the bg @elena (cont')

(con't) that said, I LOVE @ricmac's idea of adding "at Friendica" or "at Flipboard" on other Fediverse accounts - but not for my main account (Mastodon) necessarily, just my secondary ones.
I may start doing that.
Thought / ideas?

@_elena Thanks Elena for the kind words; and your post reminded me to check whether my Threads profile update has finally updated on my Mastodon server…and it has! It took a good couple of weeks though, I suspect due to Mastodon caching.

@ricmac this is sooo cool Richard! Thanks for inspiring me to do that, I'm in the process of updating all my profile photos + display names, following your example

@_elena @ricmac @elena I've been mostly just trying to stick with one platform myself (although I do have several accounts for testing that I don't actively use).
But this reminded me to check, and yes, my (non-existent) accounts @[email protected] and @[email protected] back from when I was trying to set up my own Mastodon instance are still showing up in search. (At least on mastodon.social.)
Huh!
