Is Substack inacessible to everyone right now, I wonder?

It doesn’t work for me, either.
It looks like it’s down:

@mrmartye That’s what I found, too, when I googled for information.

Substack now appears to be back up.

@wdlindsy Why is Substack so popular anyway?

Not sure, but wonder if such Substack 'outage' events give the captives there pause to consider they could be canceled at any moment.

@n8chz What do you think?

@mastodonmigration Definitely worth considering, I'd think.

@wdlindsy Unsure. Critical mass? Monetizability? Convenient one-stop clearinghouse for "longform writing"? I guess from my outsider perspective all I see is yet another platform capitalism, which is usually a non-event to me, but with this one it seems like all the smart/interesting people (people similar to the bloggers I loved most when blogging was still a thing) are simply flocking to it, and frankly, I somewhat resent its success. #Substack

@n8chz Given the serious threat now facing all of us and our planet, I'm very willing to work with less-than-perfect commentary people, platforms, and agendas, when those people, platforms, and agendas promise to push back against that threat. I reserve my anger and resentment for those mounting the threat, not potential allies.
