@the5thColumnist I suspect they do know the message they're sending and they intend to send it. They've been schooled and indoctrinated to think that men, straight ones, should rule the world and women should submit, and Trump represents their chance to impose this ideology on all of us by courts and force of law.

Religions are the root of all evil and bad in the world.
Religions (and especially monotheistic ones) need to be destroyed.

@wdlindsy @the5thColumnist I agree. These people have hitched their wagons to patriarchy and they go where it goes.

@ruedi @BlueWaver22 In an oligarchy now coming into being in the US, controlled by the richest people in the nation, none of whom shows the slightest inclination to be religious in any meaningful way, you think religion is the root of all that's evil and bad?
I'm going to have to think about that, since it's not what I see.

And I'm going to keep standing with a lot of people motivated by sincere religious faith who are doing everything they can to push back against the cruelty and tyranny being imposed on us by the super-rich, who show no evidence whatsoever of having any grounding in religious or spiritual or moral values.

@LaNaehForaday @ruedi I understand anger, and I understand justifiable anger.
For my part, when anyone makes that kind of comment about any person or any insitution β even out of very justifiable anger β on social media threads, I stop listening.
Because it adds nothing to meaningful conversation. Because it's so easy and cheap.
And most of all, because it reeks of violence, and I find violence distasteful in the extreme.
