Parker Molloy cleverly calls her take-down of the disgraceful coverage of Trump's McDonald's stunt, "'You Want Lies With That?'" News Media Struggle to Cover Trump's Potemkin McDonald's Photo Op."

@davidarnell My brothers and cousins and I did play endless games of Monopoly and loved it. We so easily accessed our ruthless, scheming capitalist ids and delighted in gaining ownership and control of each other, of the weaklings. And I wonder what the point of that game was: to inure us to the damage capitalism does? To teach us to be good little capitalists? Or to teach us how heinous the system is?

@Savvyhomestead Yes, as I well know from hearing my half-Irish grandmother and her brothers talking about the experience of their mother, grandparents, and aunt and uncle as Irish immigrants to America in the 1850s.

@tob I see the words "a full 58 percent of U.S. respondents are in favor of mass deportation" and stop there, in total horror and shame.

@bmoore123 Yes, and interestingly enough, the soft-sell media reports didn't even mention that fact in most cases.

@Global_Repercussions Thank you. You're exactly right.

@3x10to8mps Smiling — grimly. Yes, they'd get even more cutely euphemistic, wouldn't they? How low many of us have decided to let ourselves slip, pretending that this cheap stunt by a master conman meant something meaningful. Shame on CBS and NBC and their ilk.

@NeadReport Touché. I think companies allow this kind of thing because, on the whole, economic elites stand solidly behind Trump and Vance and want them in office. There are tax cuts to be considered, after all, and protections from government supervision and "interference."

@billseitz We wouldn't have known any of that from many media reports, would we?

@markmetz Sadly, that's not beyond the realm of possibility, is it, that debasement of language by the complicit media?

@JBShakerman @NYTimes Yes, you're right.

@shuttersparks I think that's a trademark of real evil, laughing at the death and destruction you're planning to visit on others.
