"[Brett] Kavanaugh was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 6, 2018, on a vote of 50-48. New evidence released last week suggests that the razor-close vote was unduly influenced by a sham supplemental FBI investigation that was tightly cont...

Why has it taken so long for this cover-up to be exposed, Legum asks? Here's why"
"The Trump Administration repeatedly thwarted Senate investigators’ subsequent attempts to get to the bottom of how the supplemental background investigation was conducted."

"Brett Kavanaugh is a blight on the Supreme Court. His inclusion among the nine Justices diminishes the entire institution, makes a mockery of judicial impartiality, and is a metaphorical middle finger to every woman in the United States."

"One SCOTUS Justice credibly accused of sexual misconduct is too many (and look at what a corrupt piece of shit Clarence Thomas turned out to be); two such jurists on the high court feels like an intentional troll—a cruel, sick joke of the kind that would have amused recipients of Judge Kozinski’s gag emails."

"And now, at long last, after six years of dogged pursuit of the facts by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, we find that the much-ballyhooed FBI investigation was a bunch of malarkey."

And let’s not forget the special cowardice and gullibility of Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who could have cast a crucial “no” vote.

@wdlindsy SCOTUS (suggested edit) and he also drank a lot of beer and had his large gambling debts disappeared.

@wdlindsy It's almost as absurd and hypocritical as the Renaissance popes with all their unacknowledged children
-
William Lindsey :toad:replied to Strange Culprits on last edited by
@StrangeCulprits Certainly lots of historican examples of hypocritical absurdity come to mind here.
-
@loran_hayden Yes, all of that, too, for sure. When you say "suggested edit," do you mean you think it would be good to add #SCOTUS?

@donray Yes, when I read Legum saying that it's not clear whether senators knew they were endorsing a candidate when an active cover-up was in place or whether they were naive, I thought of her immediately. I personally do not think Collins is naive.
-
@wdlindsy I mean you said he was elected to the Senate.
-
@timo21 Yes, these reports certainly do call into question the man's integrity and leadership.
-
@loran_hayden Thanks for clarifying. It's Judd Legum who's writing the comment above, though, not I.

At least 2 men leading our nation into deep religious fuckery are proven sexual predators. Rapists.
You're not gonna tell me the worst thing Clarabell the Taker ever did is stick his stanky pubes on a soda can.
Their fear of exposure for all they've done is part of why they're taking so much money to destroy your life right now. -

@wdlindsy @Barbramon1 the vetting, or failure thereof is the excuse, now. as i recall, everyone pretty much knew this shit at the time; just too many people chose to ignore it.

@wdlindsy I would not, however, recommend holding your breath while you wait for anything you be done about Kavanaugh, Alito, or Thomas. There’s far too much dark money invested in them to allow anything like accountability to happen.

@richardinsandy I'm pretty sure Greg Olear is not holding his breath until something's done about those corrupt folks who are in the pocket of the exceptionally powerful and wealthy Federalist Society and Leonard Leo. What he is doing, though, is blowing the whistle, and I for one think that's an excellent thing for him to do.
