You mentioned that House Speaker Mike Johnson thinks we should be governed by the Ten Commandments, @wdlindsy, but Mike Johnson supports the election of Donald Trump as our next president, even though Trump broke all or most of the Ten Commandments. I wonder how Mike Johnson would explain this contradiction.

@wdlindsy If he was being honest, Speaker Johnson would say that in politics you have to make compromises.
I am happy that we follow each other here. I am very new here.

@RonSupportsYou I think as a hard-right evangelical, Johnson is not really in the compromising business. It's his way or the highway, and he intends, as far as he can do so, to force all of us onto his highway. Thanks for following me! I'm glad to follow you, too.

@wdlindsy I respectfully disagree with your comment about Speaker Johnson. I think he compromised to get some spending bills passed, and I think he will again compromise to get the next spending bill passed. His different positions on aid to Ukraine, from opposition to acceptance, involved compromise. Speaker Mike Johnson is far from a hero, he is much better than former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and I enthusiastically support the election of Kamala Harris.

@RonSupportsYou I suspect we may have agree to disagree about Mike Johnson, but I respect your right to have your opinion even when mine differs, for sure.
