"Considering how Rubin, Pool, and Johnson loved to denounce and mock the idea of Russian interference in American politics as the 'Russia Hoax,' it’s incredibly entertaining to watch them all describe themselves as victims of a Russian influence operation. How can you be the victim of something you claim doesn’t exist? A question I assume their lawyers are now parsing as they advise their clients on how not to incriminate themselves."

"What will these commentators do with all the money they received from the Kremlin? All six have said they've been contacted by the FBI as victims of the crime, but will they choose to give the money back, or donate it to charity as a symbolic gesture?"
~ Brian Stelter
I'm going to go with, "They'll keep every penny of their ill-gotten gains while continuing to pretend they had no idea who was paying them enormous sums."

@wdlindsy Rubin, Pool, and Johnson forever labeled as 'useful idiots'. That may be enough. Also, the money they took should go to the families of the police officers harmed on Jan. 6. That could be the 'gotcha' for them. "Mr. Pool, why haven't you given your Russian money to...."?

@wdlindsy What a weird framing.
What usually happens to ill-begotten criminal proceeds? They should get seized and the culprits thwacked with a FARA mallet.

@murodegrizeco I agree.

@timo21 A great idea, giving that money to the families of officers harmed in the Jan. 6 coup attempt.

"The truth is undeniable: prominent right-wing YouTubers have been revealed as agents of Russia, some paid $100,000 per video to spread Putin’s message. …
And as for the corporate media, one cannot help but wonder: why have they been so slow to pursue this story with the vigor it deserves? Could it be that they, too, are compromised?"
