"As illustrated by the story of his real estate company’s reliance on dubious shell companies, Trump was already operating in an alternate ethical universe long before he became president, a world where the rules that most ordinary people live by are easily broken. Inside this domain, anonymously owned companies and funds based in offshore tax havens hide what could be as much as 10 per cent of the world’s GDP."

"This is money earned from organised crime or narcotics operations, stolen from legitimate institutions, or simply hidden, legally, with the aim of avoiding taxation, alimony or embarrassment. In this world, theft is rewarded. Taxes are not paid. Law enforcement is impotent and underfunded. Regulation is something to be dodged, not respected."

@wdlindsy Yes, I would like to see it all shut down.
I think we have to destroy this world, if we would save our own world.

@murodegrizeco The problem with destroying a world, no matter how unjustly that world operates, is that the people hurt first and foremost are then the most vulnerable.

I apologize, I should have been much more careful in what I said.
Perhaps:
There is a world of wealthy people, mostly separate from our world, that has an overwhelming destructive power and control over our world.
Their repeated ability to capture and steer society and the state in awful directions must be ended, preferably with caution, humanity, and determination.
I do not want a french revolution.

@murodegrizeco Thank you for explaining, and I'm the one who must apologize for not having seen your point. I agree with you.
