@rvinson Since your comment addresses nothing I see in this thread, I'm going to assume it's a generic comment equating Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. So you want to go back, with present-day Republicans, to a period when child labor is the norm? To the absolute control of labor by capital, with the former having no rights and the latter having all rights? I'm not going back to all of that without strongly resisting.

@MylesRyden Great comments. Yes, most of them wouldn't know a policy if it bit them in the derriere. It's all about finding any cudgel they can find to beat Kamala Harris with, while pretending that this extraordinary scrutiny of a Black woman — as these same folks give Trump carte blanche to blather and lie endlessly — has nothing at all to do with racism and misogyny.

Unpopular opinion between you me and the walls.
Kinda looks like a cult of personality on both sides here. Apparently no one was interested when an old white guy (who has actually been pretty effective given Congress) was running against outright fascism.
But suddenly when a younger woman is running the same policies against the same fascism, enthusiasm is sky high. I get that presidential politics is a lot about identity and personality, but can we at least admit that?
Won't be surprised if I have to delete this post sometime later.

@MylesRyden But it makes sense to me that people unenthusiastic about a match-up all over again between two aged white men would be enthusiastic when a younger Black woman comes along as one of the candidates.

Unfortunately, this is a feature of Canadian politics:
"There has never been a period in American history in which one political party gave up on the popular vote and sought to win power purely as a minority party."

@merneptah1209 You're very kind to say that. I'm glad the posts and analysis are worthwhile. Not to worry if your commens come through with with transposed letters! I can make them out, and am likely to transpose letters myself.
