Threads deepens its ties to the open social web, aka the ‘fediverse’
"On Wednesday, Meta announced that users on Threads will be able to see fediverse replies on other posts besides their own. In addition, posts that originated through the Threads API, like those created via third-party apps and scheduling services, will now be syndicated to the fediverse."

@FediPact Oh. So Threads is now actually entering the fediverse in earnest?

>While it makes sense in the near term to separate the fediverse replies into their own section as users learn what it means to participate in the wider social web, requiring the extra click to view them also somewhat buries them in the Threads user interface. That makes them seem of less importance than the native Threads replies. Of course, Threads’ user interface could still change as the product evolves.
Talk about carrying water for Meta. Can't wait for the most obvious Embrace, Extend, Extinguish play ever to be gleefully swallowed hook, line, and sinker by people that really should know better by now.

Yuck.
I interact all too much with mastodon.social and other "Twitter refugee" pods and probably need to juggle at least three personae at some point.
Do you have any advice on avoiding this, other than ALWAYS sticking a dot somewhere in my username to avoid AI bot stalker army?
I'm supposed to be dead, but obviously idgaf what my ex-family thinks I'm supposed to be; I am the mother of Terran-Sage Revolution noordinaryspi.der 2008-2018 rest in power.

@aspensmonster @FediPact Meta and Threads pulling an EEE on the Fedi is actually insane, like how does the corp not realize that we know they're trying to EEE? For a federated social media where the entire purpose is being a clusters of smaller servers, the big threads threatens its very existance if embraced.
