When you deal with a #report on your server, from someone on your server, do you send a message to the person who made it?

So, personally, I like to send messages to everyone who reports, at least once. Even if it's a spam bot, I want to let them know that a real person looked at the report and did something, because I want to build that (very realistic) expectation on the network. It's a failure case if people think that someone isn't reading the reports they put in.
I've also had a couple cases where someone has said something totally inappropriate in a conversation, and I've responded by leaving a message not only for them, but a private message to the other people in the conversation to let them know that a moderator is taking some action.
The main purpose of this is to build a better set of expectations of the network, but also to encourage people to report in general: I really worry that not enough stuff is getting reported, and having a moderator thank you for a report is an easy way to reinforce the reporting behavior.

@Raccoon I like this. I hope it becomes standard practice.
I've had a few people send me connection requests with empty or questionable profiles, and I try to do the same thing in those cases. It's better to try the "adult" communicative option first rather than assume intent.

@Raccoon What a lovely way of changing expectations away from the tech platforms where you never expect a human to interinteract with you at all.
