Joining the US military has a lot of benefits.

And to be clear two sailors were identified by the locals as American service members and confronted. An additional 5 Marines and sailors were nearby and watched this scene unfold.
All US military members escaped without serious injury and local police arrested 15 locals.

Still waiting on a reply.
Cowards can't back their nonsense up.
They simply melt.

Watch closely and you'll notice and young man holdimg a TGB(Youth Union of Turkey) banner.
A quick read of thier history shows that putting a white over US service members' heads is a common protest tactic for them.
They oppose Turkish membership in the EU and military cooperation with the US.
They have been protesting US involvement in the oppression of Palestinians since at least 2008.

I can't think of a better thing to do for the next month but to shine a light on what cowardice is so that is what I will do until this post is removed.
-
@RememberUsAlways I can't see what he/she posted. Gone.
-
I still see both the coward and post. Curious.
-
@RememberUsAlways because you had it in your feed/timeline before deletion, I had it after.
-
Ahhh. Yes perhaps. Others still can see the post because it was in their feed prior as well.
I'll shut up about it after some time but I hope everyone who can read this can see and realize the insult that was cast on service members everywhere.

To be honest, this response feels pretty uncalled for. You're talking to a relatively well-known black user, who's talking about a real consequence of the handling of the situation in Gaza, regardless of where the blame lies.From what I know about Null Agent, he is many things that you could criticize, but disgusting, coward, and Trump supporter really aren't a way I would describe someone who has literally been openly harassed by people for his work in police accountability, among other things.
If you don't like what he's saying, maybe you should just block and move on. Right now though, you're trending on FediBlock for this, and I'm looking at this thread and seeing harassment with some concerningly racial undertones.

It's terrifying to see this happening in a country that is a NATO Ally, but this is the situation that Netanyahu has dragged us into. That's why it's very important right now to support the protesters in Israel right now, which is something I'm encouraging everyone to write their representatives over: I think now is a very good time to be putting maximum pressure on the US government, because there is maximum pressure on the Israeli government. -

"Supporting the genocide in the region your dumbass is stationed in" is an insult to all service members everywhere in my humble opinion.
That is what you are defending.
Unacceptable. Standing on the graves of brave service members with a thumbs up.

RememberUsAlways has some "interesting" takes on whether Palestinians should be fully, mercilessly exterminated too:

Raccoon and Null Agent are willing to throw our soldiers under the Trump campaign bus in order to push their anti-USA ideology it looks like to me and I also find that behavior appalling. -

It wasn't just the one post, it was that they just kept going. It looks like they took the hint and decided to delete it, but there were at least five posts just going on and on about Null Agent, demanding he respond to the wild things being thrown at him. -

Except you don't know anything about my involvement in politics, and I didn't even mention it here. I came here as someone who is involved in moderation on the Fediverse to say that the content of these messages themselves was completely inappropriate. Now that it looks like they've been taken down, my entire grievance is settled. -

@Raccoon I'm kind of curious on your thoughts about the regular genocide apologism he engages in (see link in second last post). Regularly talking about a lack of sympathy for ethnic cleansing would be an instant ban from most instances, except he chose an ethnic minority that's politically correct to discriminate against!

So, to reiterate something I said in a moderation post a while back, there are viewpoints we can discuss and viewpoints we shouldn't discuss. That the October attack justified the current invasion of Gaza, that the nature of Hamas and Gaza as a densely populated area makes casualties unavoidable, and that the anti-war camp has a problem with anti-semites and people who are letting their anger sabotage the greater goals of the movement (such as allowing Donald Trump to be reelected), are all legitimate courses of discussion. I'm even willing to assume that the accusations of anti-Semitism being thrown around are "them seeing something I'm not", rather than outright lies, considering Jewish people, like every marginalized group, deal with constant underhanded tactics.I think the bigger issue with discussing ideas like this is that people need to follow some rules of civility here, and stop the accusations, insults, and harassment. That's my big issue here.

@egg
...that being said, it is obviously completely inappropriate to say that any ethnic group, including the palestinians, should be killed for the actions of people who happen to be supposed members of said group, even if they claim to represent the absolute will of every member of that group, as Hamas and the Netanyahu regime do for the ethnic groups they identify themselves as.That is collective punishment, and it's not only a war crime, it's completely unreasonable, illogical, and unsustainable.
So while the support for Israel itself here, or the feeling that this is insulting to the troops, or the idea that propaganda is playing a part here, isn't necessarily something that I hold issue with, that post they made a while back that the October attack would be responded to with "total destruction" felt concerningly close to a call for genocide. So to answer your question...
I am finding his statements extremely concerning.
