@puppygirlhornypost2 Big energy company did big accounting fraud. Fraud got discovered, stock crashed, Enron and the accounting firm responsible for their creative bookkeeping went spectacularly bankrupt. The spectacularness of it resulted in Senate hearings, a law, policy changes on the NYSE, etc.
There were also attempts to tie it to the Bush Jr. administration, since Enron execs donated to his campaign and there were rumors of its CEO being considered for Energy Secy. in his administration, but that was pretty much a nothingburger.
