You couldn't make this up.
Since forever, YouTube has had video descriptions. The uploader has been able to provide a description of their video. A human description, designed by a human for a human.
This particular change shows that they have space on the UI that they could use to make those descriptions more visible. They would rather use that space to force you to see AI bullshit (no option to turn it off) than show you something actually written by a human, which they already had available!
The thought that I, as a YouTube creator, could take time to write a good video description (which I do), only to have that ignored and replaced with some AI slop, really demotivates me.
There is a feedback button that I will now be regularly using to mark all of these AI summaries as bad, regardless of their accuracy.

@lexbailey (they'll blocklist you from feedback consideration if they find a pattern)

@laxla and I will let them. I won't back down. I want them to discover this pattern. I hope there is an overwhelming amount of people reporting these summaries as harmful.
