Do you practice European seasonal tree magic, such as Christmas trees, mistletoe, wreaths or Yule logs?
-
@evan Qualified no. My family is multicultural, and parents and my in-laws do Christmas trees. We don’t in my house, because I’m Jewish, and while my husband is a culturally Christian atheist, we have five cats. So like, I participate in tree related activities (decorating, making ornaments, etc) with family sometimes, but it’s not my thing.

@BathysphereHat maybe your household would be into the Caga Tió tradition instead?

@BathysphereHat it's kind of interesting that European tree magic was not incorporated at all into Hanukkah traditions down through the centuries.
-
As a practitioner, I highly recommend it.
-
@remenca @BathysphereHat Aww, nice! I love that tradition.
-
@evan ours is American tree magic. By which I mean it’s made of petroleum
-
@evan @BathysphereHat The family friends I did a festive holiday dinner with this weekend had one of those under the tree. Had never really seen one or heard of it before. I was a strong no to this poll but I do celebrate New England tree magic this time of year by standing out in the woods when it snows.

@jessamyn @BathysphereHat our ecoregion has good tree magic.
-
@squinky it works!

@evan I have a wreath on my door the whole year-round!
-
@evan No magic and no particular religious or spiritual component, but I do help put up and decorate my girlfriend’s Christmas tree each year.
Why? Because it’s pretty and it makes her happy.
-
@jeff sounds like the magic worked!

@evan
I have a virtual "Yule Log", but it's more just lighting a fire in the virtual fireplace because winter. -

Happy Yule to all who celebrate. It's a great day for tree magic. I'm a strong yes.
