The migration was a success! Since it was all on the same system, I cloned the Sharkey folder from the old partition to the new one... and everything seems to be in working order. I know downtime isn't exactly beloved for sharkey instances but... oh well.
OpenSUSE was very annoying, no ethernet out of the box which is a major distro red flag for me. Not sure if I had to do any configuration but Debian and Arch never have this issue, so that's that I guess. Onto installing nvidia drivers and getting back to some scientific computing.
