I don't know if anyone has studied this but I feel like the collective trauma of COVID somehow made everyone a worse (mostly more aggressive/impatient) driver.

@ultranurd many got to ignore the traversal of physical spaces for a bit
-
@arrjay Yeah or if they did have to commute a lot of other people weren't on the road so it seemed like you could just go?
-
@ultranurd There are some theories that it’s partially due to an increase is cognitive impairment resulting from repeated COVID infections.
-
@ultranurd I haven't seen studies, but my wife has a long commute and has strongly and repeatedly had this view (Seattle)
-
@swiftone Yeah we don't have to go far in Seattle often but even just around Interbay it seems like people thing every road is a freeway and begrudge anyone else being there.
-
@dandean That's reassuring It does feel like (especially as a pedestrian) I "startle" drivers more than I did in say 2019 just waiting to cross and confirm they saw me or whatever.
-
@ultranurd I wonder if it's tied to the fact that for a few weeks / months traffic was almost non-existent, and now that traffic and activity have rebounded, it's very irritating when you used to have the road to yourself. And shorter commutes.

@Coach Yeah
