@danderson Just circling back to this -- I understand completely if life happened between then and now, but where does this stand at the moment?

@mos_8502 Life very happened, in the form of a large rabbithole made of smaller rabbitholes. I hit a bug in the CAD program I was using, that sent me on a wild goose chase through computational geometry, and... well anyway. It's still on my todo list, I'll try to resist distractions and get it done this week. Sorry for the delay!
-
@mos_8502 oh jeez I didn't see it's been a whole month already. Sorry, I suck, in my mind it's been only a couple days
-
@danderson Don’t worry about that. I get it.

@mos_8502 Arright, model's rendered to STEP and might be usable: https://github.com/danderson/snes-controller-connector/releases
It's too late for today but tomorrow I'll peek at the sentinel kicad files and try importing it, see if I screwed up the orientation, see if I can fix up the texturing to match other kicad components, etc. But if you want to try the same in parallel, I rendered the two variants out to the zip file attached to that release I linked. I'll poke again when the polish is applied!

@mos_8502 ... And of course literally one of the last things I did before wrapping up seems to have broken freecad's ability to understand the existence of materials in this file. Sigh. I'll figure it out tomorrow, in the meantime they're comically untextured placeholder art.

@mos_8502 Arright the model loads in kicad and dimensions look good. Going to make a footprint library to stick in the repo with both variants.
Style question: I usually follow KLC (https://klc.kicad.org/) design rules. Your connector footprint uses slightly different font sizes and the like. Intentional? Should I not mess with them? Or you fine with "whatever kicad official libraries do" ? I don't mind either way, whatever doesn't suck for you.
