Ah, so if I want to follow someone from Bluesky, they have to first follow the Bridgy Fed account to opt in, I see.
-
@jackemled Yes, on the fediverse side of things, and I don't expect that to change.
But Bluesky can be handled separately, so that's what's being discussed.
I think it would only be fair to keep the tool opt-in for all networks. If that makes it less useful, it's an issue with the networks not cooperating and should be fixed on that level.
-
@Alien_Sunset Right, this discusses the Bluesky side of things, as that could be technically handled independently.
(Not arguing that it should.)
-
@Alien_Sunset Yeah, that's kind of weird. It looks like you can block the bridging account and that will delete the bridged profile. Not too sure if that completely deletes your posts. (I'd assume that's the case.)
-
@Alien_Sunset @deborahh Yeah, I wanted to give this a try, but it's already a bit messy, with folks starting to follow an account I made just to reserve my username.
I guess I'll give it a few more days to feel things out for myself.
-
From what I could tell it deletes all the posts too, I had reposted/quoted some with my actual account and they are all gone now
-
@Alien_Sunset Ah, good to know, thank you!
-
@stefan Thank you!!
-
@candidexmedia You're welcome!
-
@stefan is there a way to know if your account is included and in which starter pack?
-
@tl Sorry, I don't really use Bluesky. I thought you'd get notified, but looking through https://bsky.social/about/blog/06-26-2024-starter-packs, I don't really see anything about that.
-
@stefan I’m also not using it (bridged my masto account via bridgy.fed). But noticed sudden increase of followers there
-
@tl Yeah, sorry, wish I could help more.
I did just come across https://clearsky.app, which sounds like it should tell you a few interesting things about your account, but the site doesn't seem to be working for me right now.
-
@stefan thx, seems it works again
-
@tl Nice! Yeah, it's a bit on and off for me right now.
