I think today marks 15 years of running my own mail server and using it for my primary private email account. 15 years of JustWorks. Of sending and receiving e-mails. Successfully keeping spam to a minimum (without CPU intensive stuff like SpamAssssin or similar). Of NOT having problems with mails being refused by Google, Hotmail, Microsoft, T-Online. All thanks to Open Source (Linux, dovecot, postfix, opendkim, OpenDMARC, letsencrypt). #justsayin Blog series on my setup https://jan.wildeboer.net/2022/08/Email-0-The-Journey-2022/

I need to add some more blog posts on how I switched from fail2ban to crowdsec and how I run mailcrypt on dovecot so my son and daughter feel safe using my server too, knowing that dad canβt read their emails.

@jwildeboer This is cool! Would you know how this setup is different from https://mailinabox.email/?

@Logical_Error My setup really focuses on standard email. No webmail, no NextCloud, no nothing. Just pure and simple email, to be used with your mail client on your laptop or smartphone.
