honestly if the minetest/luanti game jam shows anything it's how shit this engine is for making any sort of creative project that isn't a minecraft spin off (and even when you try to clone minecraft exactly, you run into a plethora of issues).

you have games in there that have good assets, a good concept and gameplay design but feel incredibly janky due to controls, graphical oddities, and just generally things that the engine doesn't let you control.
most interesting stuff also sucks on multiplayer because minetest is a "game engine" without client side scripting so you end up computing a lot of stuff on the server that really doesn't belong there (like visual effects) -
