Finally got around to fixing my bike tyre today. The initial difficulty had been in getting the tyre off of the wheel, but that fixed itself by leaving it deflated for a while.
From experience though, I knew that getting the tyre back on the wheel was going to be a lot harder, and it was, until I found a 14-year old YouTube video that explained the proper way to do it, and then it only took a few minutes with surprisingly little physical effort and no tyre levers required.

I didn't actually even need the straps, though I can see how it would be handy. -
Of course the video's advice isn't entirely applicable because this tyre is actually glued on one side to the rim. I have no idea why this is, but it sure does make maintenance that little bit harder.
