As commentator after commentator is noting today, Trump has been especially unhinged the past few days, as Harris climbs in polls and Jack Smith drops a superseding indictment. Here's Tim Miller in video talking about Trump's latest meltdown on Truth S...

@LaNaehForaday Projection definitely plays a major role with him, for sure.

@tofugolem That's my observation, too.

@luv_wins This baffles me, too, but I see so many instances of it. I know women — or know of women — who have been indoctrinated by their churches and the surrounding culture to think they need to be "obedient" and subordinate to the men "God" has placed over them. They stop thinking and let the man who is their "head" pour all his nonsense into their heads, and they vote just as he tells them to vote. Women like that are common in my heavily evangelical, solidly red state.

@Give_A_Damn Thank you for that. Strangely, when I clicked to read, the article was unlocked, so I assumed that when I copied the link to it, it would be unlocked for all readers. I'm sorry that wasn't the case, and appreciate the gift article.

@Piousunyn Yes, you're right.

@Starbrother Seems that way to me! That's why I put the word in quotation marks — Satan or a projection of his fantasies. I always have in mind Mary Daly's famous and wonderful statement that, if God is male, then the male is God — in his own male head. Since it's men who have projected their image of God for everyone for many centuries, claiming exclusive rights to lead religions and interpret their holy books….

@NeadReport With apologies to croutons! I love a good crunchy, well-seasoned crouton.

@wdlindsy I do too! I guess I should apologize to salads while I'm at it.

@NeadReport Salads and croutons definitely have wonderful reasons to exist. About some people, the jury is not yet in on that score, seems to me.

Maybe let's not repeat everything he says on every platform.
Then his message of hate will be confined to his echo chamber.

It's hard to convey when he's gotten worse because everyone hears it over and over and is so desensitized.
But the dude posted a meme that said that another former president, Obama, should face a "military tribunal" because ... no reason given. This is wild. Obama isn't in power, Obama isn't doing anything. It's total madness to even bring him in to the conversation about... trying to have people you said mean things about you put to death... presumably.
There is no bottom.

As the Germans used to say:: If there are 10 Nazis sitting at a table and an 11th person joins them, there are 11 Nazis. All Republican voters are Nazis now.
"Meanwhile, those Republican voters who remain outside the MAGA cult just aren’t paying attention to it at all. For the third consecutive election, they’re asleep at the switch, paying attention to nothing but their vague belief that another Trump presidency still represents their preferred “policies.”

@futurebird Yes, excellent points. We're totally desensitized, many of us, and as folks like Ruth Ben-Ghiat keep pointing out, that's exactly what he and others like him want: they want us tired, down, hopeless. But there's no bottom, and he's now making threats that are not-so-veiled threats about wanting his "enemies" killed — and it's so dangerous for us to sit by and do nothing.

@Greengordon Yes, that paragraph struck me as so good, too.

@ScribblersEmporium Though it's distasteful to amplify what he says, I think we have an obligation to pay attention to it and draw the attention of others to it, because he and his movement are incredibly dangerous.
Hitler rose to power on the back of silent complicity.

""We are at a point now given his public statements and madtruthing, his crashing and desecrating of Arlington National Cemetery, his rallying of his fellow Putinists, his indictment by the government of the United States of America for some of the most serious crimes against our democracy in history, the question of whether he needs to step aside -"

@wdlindsy It's easier to give in than acknowledge you're with a dick or we're raised by a dick. I fortunately was raised by parents that taught me to value myself and my own intelligence!
