I am not a member of the SRA, but I am a gun owner and recreational shooter. Their advice strikes me as sound and practical.

@jalefkowit from Scotland where the police are generally not armed and easy public access to guns is a no no this advice actually looks sane compared to some I've read from the USA.

They generally don't all have the SAME weird ideas about guns. But the ideas are all weird.
