@polotek a map of restrictive covenants in San Mateo Cty would look same or worse. I remember when my grandma told me about the work she and her church group had done to integrate their neighborhood. The shock I felt upon realizing in that moment that California had housing and schools that were segregated too. Schoolbooks loved to treat segregation, sundown towns, etc as peculiarities of the South. But turned out that was always bullshit.
