@andycarolan Wait wait wait.
Like, poked fork holes in, bake potatoes, cool, throw in freezer?
My fellow human, if this is the case, you have make my next harvest season ... different.
-
@otherryn That's correct!
Just bake as usual, cool, freeze.
When you're ready to eat them, just cook from frozen.
-
@andycarolan Bakers aren't commonly available in Germany and it never occurred to me to just bake the whole bag and freeze it. Thank you!
-
@otherryn Ooh, you're in for a treat then!
There's three of us, so I usually double up on what I'm cooking (potatoes are cheap, and the cooker is on anyway, so the added cost is minimal). Then I just freeze what we don't eat. My wife sometimes takes one in to work and has for lunch, which is a nice change.
-
@andycarolan My husband is British and frequently has a "I just want a jacket potato" situation going on and now I can be like "well, that is an option for you."
-
@otherryn Haha, awesome! I'm not sure how long they would last in the freezer... but I'm guessing quite a while, as they are just potatoes afterall.
-
@andycarolan It's usually about 3 months if well wrapped. Six if in a deep freeze/chest freezer. They would not exist long enough to exceed that timeline
-
@otherryn Oh that's plenty of time isn't it! I thing ours survive a week maximum before being eaten lol.
