Yeah...no shit Sherlock...Fediverse works by follow relationships. If you don't follow people and people don't follow you, your posts won't get much interaction because they're not going very far.
When thinking about...almost anything, common sense helps.

I had Twitter and had more followers there, but interactions were not positive most of the time. (trolls, idio*s - and I know THEY perceived ME as and idiot, etc.)
Here I have few nice interactions a week, sometimes I learn new stuff, sometimes it is not that nice, but most of time it is because we don't share same POV on problem, but it is still (most of the time) decent.

@BeAware
I don't think there's an algo. Only an anti algo, maybe. -
@FandaSin I had twitter and left behind 110 followers or so...
Then I came here and now I have 1.1k+ :kek: :elonweed:

@BeAware I never had anything actually growing with people I like coming back to. Here I do. And not because of grand standing or showing off or attacking others, but rather due to actual conversations.
Wild to me that it's even possible.

@Imperor facts.
I did have this hope that one day we'll have full open communication across platforms, but after getting smacked by some realization, I no longer see that as possible, but that doesn't mean Fediverse itself isn't worth it on its own.
I like it here.
