Hey there
If you have any questions about how to use Mastodon or the rest of the Fediverse, it is totally fine to ask! I'm an actual human being here, and I'll try to help answer any questions if I can!
I didn't set up this account to be one-directional or mass audience, it's meant to be about helping people directly.

@FediTips where you can see where the server of your instance is located?
-
You should be able to find your server's physical location by looking it up on https://fedidb.org (although I'm not 100% sure how reliable this is, might be worth asking your server admin too).
By the way, to avoid confusion, on the Fediverse instances are often also called "servers" even though that's technically a name for a hosting computer

I hope you can help. I apparently no longer have a universesodon account. I've been unable to sign in and even reset my password.
Any suggestions?

Email the admin of Universeodon on their public email address which is [email protected] (mention specifically that you are on Universeodon as they seem to run several servers).
Ask them if they can help.
By the way, in case you ever need to check it, the public email address is visible at https://universeodon.com/about

@FediTips What's the important differences between Mastodon and Bluesky?
-
Bluesky is effectively a centralised social network run by a for-profit corporation, which is funded and owned by Venture Capital investors. It would be very easy for Musk etc to buy them out, and a buyout would make the staff at Bluesky very rich. It's on a path to "enshittification".
Mastodon is part of the Fediverse and is decentralised, no one owns it and no one can buy it out. This is really, really important, here are the reasons why:
