Is there a way to search my timeline? I’m using the web client
That’s my most frequent use of the search function. I don’t always remember the author, but keywords, that I can do

Yes! There are lots of "search operators" you can use to search specific things like your own posts, certain people's posts, posts from certain dates etc. They're all detailed here (scroll down to the "operators" section):

@FediTips @StingrayBadger that’s really a no, then
I can search for stuff that I interacted with, but not stuff that I’ve merely seen
Thank you

If you've seen it on your timeline, then it should be searchable. You can search anything your server has noticed, which includes everything on your timeline.

@FediTips @StingrayBadger that isn’t what I’m looking for
Everything that my server has noticed is too wide a net
My interactions is too narrow a sample

For privacy reasons there is deliberately nothing in the software keeping track of what you've looked at, so there's no way to restrict it to that.
