I read your nice guide "How to use the Lists feature on Mastodon" and have a question or two.
If I follow an account such as @FediTips in a list which I hide from my home timeline, and also follow a hashtag such as #FediTips, will posts from the @FediTips account which use the hashtag #FediTips show up in my home timeline (because I'm following the hashtag), or be hidden (because the account is in my hidden list)?

1. if you're hiding an account it should end up on your Lists even if you're following the hashtag, and even if someone else boosts the account (I think!)
2. If you're not hiding someone, their posts will appear in your main timeline even if someone boosts them. I'm not sure if additional boosts by hidden accounts are shown in the main timeline or not, would need some experimenting to check

Thanks for replying.
1. So if you're hiding an account and following the hashtag, it would show up in the list as well as the main timeline, or just in the list?
2. "If you're not hiding someone, their posts will appear in your main timeline even if someone boosts them."
And if you are hiding someone, will their posts also appear in your main timeline if someone boosts them?
I find the nuances here are a bit complicated and hard to understand!

1. I would imagine it's just on the list but I don't know the priority off-hand.
2. No, as far as I know.
