For privacy and safety reasons this feature is switched off by default. You need to switch it on if you want your own posts to be "full text searchable".
This only affects posts that have a public visibility setting. Posts with other visibility settings are not searchable at all.

If you allow search engines, it is also publicly searchable on Mastodon, otherwise not.
