@hex I had seen only extreme enthusiasm about it so my expectations were too high. I like the animation and the themes but the story and some of the characters’ behavior fell flat for me.

@hex I thought that young girl’s performance was lacking, too.

@jsit i didn’t mind the odd behaviors or flat performances as much. i was more caught up on the relationship of the art with the artist and really liked the personification of The Film Idea as a character. i also liked how the film gave away halfway through “yes she’s not real” so it wasn’t meant to be a twist ending or anything
just happy weird cinema is still being made
