Now I'm wrestling with whether to cancel my trip to San Francisco for Thanksgiving.
It would do a lot of damage to my relationships with family when they're already under severe strain.
On the other hand, they apparently have given up any precautions against COVID, and San Francisco is one of the worst places in the country for it right now.

@foolishowl My dad is working as an electrician in Sacramento, and caught COVID, and the only people he had any interaction with were other folks on the jobsite
I'd say that if you're flying in, and you plan on being around any groups larger than 5 people, your chances of catching it approach 90%
IMO, If your family prioritize their own feelings over your health and safety, they're not your family. They're acquaintances that share genetics. Act accordingly.

@foolishowl Life is too short to spend your time appeasing people who only care about your well-being so long as it benefits them.
