advice/insight please
i spent a lot of my high school life just not doing work that i didn't like doing (see: all homework that wasn't history) and just avoiding the consequences (detention doesn't mean anything if you don't go) while still doing everything important (tests)
turns out those consequences are having zero tolerance for the parts of my job that i don't like doing/don't see as important, and that i also avoid doing them
is this an #ADHD thing or...?

@jamesrg not sure if avoiding the consequences is, but from my experience, avoiding the work definitely is.

i can put more effort into avoiding the consequences than doing the work because the fear of getting into trouble makes the monkey brain work harder

@jamesrg it sounds like it's starting to really effect your life and the only advice I can give would be to see a therapist and try to figure out a solution. If it's ADHD, medication can help your brain find the reward in doing the tasks instead of avoiding them.

@jamesrg ahh, yeah, that sucks. Hopefully it won't take too long and you can get the help you need so that your life may not be effected by your differently working brain.
I know how it is. I wish you luck, friend.
