I'll admit making the legendary quest my sole source of asynchronous sociality has been one of the healthier internet choices I think I've made.
Constantly glad that I have been able to stay out of the youtube gravity hole for as long as I have. -

Yeah, shorts are just kinda horrible.
I miss the days when you actually had to hit

Yeah, shorts are just kinda horrible.
I still can't believe you actually bother watching them.

@amin @rl_dane @twizzay @adamsdesk @[email protected] @dm @[email protected] @krafter @orbitalmartian @sotolf @thedoctor @mirabilos I don't think even super-short-form is necessarily inherently bad - I've seen e.g. compilations of a lot of short things on the same subject that I don't think are necessarily bad
Like... a bunch of shorts on the same educational topic could even be a really useful way to learn a new skill! Here's 1000 bite-sized things you can to get better at XYZ!
STARE AT THE ESCAPISM MACHINE FOR OUR SHAREHOLDERS PLZ is the problem

@amin @rl_dane @twizzay @adamsdesk @[email protected] @dm @[email protected] @krafter @orbitalmartian @sotolf @thedoctor @mirabilos (I was going to say 'dopamine dispenser' but I think that vastly oversimplifies the problem and I'm increasingly convinced the "don't do things that you enjoy!!!" attitude that often comes out of it is toxic as hell)

#RSS feeds are the best! People who take the time to publish a web site usually are more thoughtful with their words.
Thanks for sharing this list. Also I would like to give a shout out to the app, #QuiteRSS which runs great on Linux.

'dopamine dispenser'
Good verbiage. I don't see it as a toxic angle. The brain wants variety, change, interaction, etc. so this is accurate even though simplistic.

It's not my fault you feel the need to have <way> more than one blog.
