As a proud feminist I fight back against the patriarchy by being the dominate top in my relationship with my boyfriend @[email protected].
-
@[email protected] okay, can you explain how that's a shitpost?
-
@[email protected] see my other reply
-
@[email protected] i don't really think i am defeating the patriarchy by domming him i am just being silly.
-
@[email protected] yes, understood
but d/s relationships (if consenual) are totally compatible with feminism
makes sense, thanks -
@[email protected] yeah that's kinda the shitpost there. hopefully nobody believes that giving their male partner power over them in a consensual kink environment is the same as a boss promoting a male associate over a woman associate
-
@[email protected] or like, when women bring up sexual harassment in the workplace and are made out to be the problem because they didn't keep their mouth shut. entirely different things. hence the shitpost in the sense of "it's absurd to believe that is the same thing at all"
-
@[email protected] well, your post just read as critical of feminism and d/s relationships to me-- so im glad i clarified it
-
@[email protected] yeah i can see how that would be construed. hopefully people read the rest of the thread for much needed context
-
@[email protected] although side note - it is kind of disappointing how many people here focus on d/s instead of the variety of other power dynamics. of course, that's not at all what my post was originally discussing just a side note i have. not everything has to be d/s, you can have s/s and all sorts of other things.
-
@[email protected] oh yes, absolutely - excellent point ️
as a switch+vers i definitely agree that most of how we talk about d/s (and also top/bottom) is extremely reductive (and generally heteronormative) -
-
@[email protected] i am also a fellow vers switch!
