In the year of our lord 2024 it is so very dumb that there's separate font licenses/pricing for web and desktop. I get it, I get it. But also it's such a frustrating experience to just...use the fonts and make cool things with them.

Font licensing like this feels like the very worst of ~proprietary software~ and feels so very anti-web / open platform. I get the history and the $$$ behind it but as a user I just want to buy a file that I own that I can open everywhere, in every place, every time, and forever.

If not then at the very least pls provide test fonts if your type foundry is gonna do this! Every project needs desktop and web fonts!!

@scott @futurefonts @djrrb I think they spoiled me rotten, yeah! So much easier and simpler.

@djrrb @scott @fonts another DJR innovation is the bundled licensing model. Every bundle (Mini, Small, Medium…) includes both desktop and web usage. I adopted this model for CJ Type because it makes the most sense to me. It simplifies things for both foundry and customer, and I get very few questions about it. Win-win situation
