‘Ironically, Apple Podcasts had video support very early on – if memory serves, they touted it at one point on the old video iPods! But they completely failed to see how big of a thing it would become’

@js They still support video 30% of my audience watches my show on Apple Podcast largely on the Apple TV,
-
@Todd_Blubrry it's still kind of bad though as a video-playback app - Apple has all of the pieces to make it _much_ better
and sway: number one on the list would be full-blown HLS support for podcasting - which all standards-based podcast hosting platforms should support
-
@js Believe me, that was a deep discussion point with an Apple rep. Video needs to be a first-class citizen again. HLS or not, for me mp4 has got the job done for 14 years

@Todd_Blubrry personally I prefer audio (I don't know where people fit all of this video viewing into their day), but with the demise of the old platforms I would love to see video publishing over rss become a compelling alternative
-
@js We are working on it. At the same time Audio can be your companion content wherever you are and whatever your doing and you don't need a screen in front of you.
