Everything we could review has us asking why. We cannot see everything they have pulled, but one thing is for sure: the political content is the focus.
-
@Todd_Blubrry you should publish them all in a podroll or publisher feed or something

@adam @js @Todd_Blubrry Create a medium=podcastL feed of remoteItem's pointing to each episode that is taken down. Call the feed "Blackbrry".

@dave @adam @js @Todd_Blubrry There _is_ a noticeable slight increase in the number of deactivations/removals from Apple Podcasts' usual numbers: https://podcastindustryinsights.com/apple-podcasts-statistics/
(Please note that deactivations/removals are not always "takedowns" or censorship. Most of the time, these are automated and due to technical problems.)

@adam @dave @js @Todd_Blubrry Oops, I meant to say that in my toot. Yes, I could make a list of what podcasts were removed/deactivated from Apple Podcasts.

@theDanielJLewis @adam @dave @js @Todd_Blubrry Would love to cover. I’m guessing almost all of Apple’s removals are tech reasons not anything more - but data would tell us.
-
@james @theDanielJLewis @adam @dave @js Its not Apple.
-
@js, that's a Good idea. The bad thing is that only about 50% of them can tell who and what, as they use a funky reporting code we have to decipher. When we do know exactly what was removed, we inform the podcaster.

@Todd_Blubrry @james @adam @dave @js Yeah, I knew you weren't talking about Apple. I know Spotify is a lot more discriminatory than Apple (YouTube is, too, but they're not a podcast platform).
Nonetheless, if James wants to analyze a typical list of weekly podcast removals/deactivations from Apple Podcasts, I'm happy to provide that long list.
