Hey #Ottawa! Today (Dec 19) is the closest we get all year to
Clock Noon* = High Noon**
all year! Grab a drink, face south, and toast Sol
* "Clock Noon" = 12:00 PM
** "High Noon" = aka solar noon, sun crosses the meridian, due south, at 12:00:13 (plus or minus a seond or two, depending where you are)(Everybody else, this is highly dependent on latitude - Ottawa is right in the middle of our time zone, so we're never off by more than 15 minutes or so in non-DST time. Indianapolis, to take another example, is near the edge of their time zone, so they are never closer than 28 minutes, and sometimes as far off as 58 minutes. When DST is in effect, it's an hour worse. High noon is *always* late there.)
