I don't know what else to tell you. Even if Harris wins, it's still the same America.
But once the election is over, if she does win, energy can be put elsewhere. Money. Time. Attention. Anxiety, these can be put elsewhere.
The loss of focus for organizers to the all-consuming election can be directed to better goals.
This is our great national distraction, but the reality is that it's critical. You don't want the Federalist Society picking judges. You don't want polluters overseeing the EPA. You don't want to hand direct control over the FBI and DOJ to the dude who wants to weaponize them against his political enemies, or against "the enemies within" so Harris winning is, in fact, undeniably a better outcome. Don't even play.
I know some will say that the resistance will go to sleep if Harris wins. And that's more or less true, insofar as liberals will go back to believing in the status quo.
But there is, quite frankly, a benefit of being able to sleep, to rest, to lay down one's burdens, even if only for a moment, to catch one's breath.
We all need this interminable election to be over, one way or another, to face what's next, and to recharge our batteries.
Until then, the entire planet holds its breath.

If Harris wins, people need to stop whining about Biden stepping down.
(Though if Harris loses, I'll probably never hear the end of it for joining the chorus saying he absolutely needed to step down to give Democrats a chance at all.)

@oliphant I was not part of the chorus calling for Biden to step down. However, Walz is the best campaigner I've seen at the national stage in my life and Harris has run an excellent campaign. Honestly, if Harris loses, we'll all have our hands full dealing with ethnic cleansing to argue about it.

@weyoun6 Well, it's kind of how I felt about Clinton in 2016.
We were told "Vote for Clinton, because she's the ONLY HOPE we have against Trump" and she couldn't beat the worst, least-qualified political candidate in history. So clearly that wasn't true. She wasn't the only hope, she was a bad candidate being forced through by the Democratic party. And I was afraid that would happen with Biden.
But he stepped down, and with Trump the bar has only sunk lower since then, he's only become more repugnant, and Harris ran a better campaign than Clinton. So there's every reason to be hopeful about the outcome today.
